[ST. PAUL, MN] – Today, Governor Tim Walz signed Executive Order 20-35 extending the peacetime emergency in Minnesota for 30 days.

“Our actions have saved lives, but the threat of COVID-19 remains,” said Governor Walz. “The next stages of this pandemic are going to challenge us – an extension of Minnesota’s peacetime emergency will allow us to protect Minnesotans’ health and wellbeing and continue to respond effectively to this rapidly-evolving situation.”

This state mandate has closed the MN exam stations and caused a halt to CDL permit tests.  We are working closely with our trade association, Commercial Vehicle Training Association in their efforts to get help from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration to come up with solutions to that road block. 

Since the transportation industry is considered critical and businesses that support or enable transportation are allowed to continue we are still operating but at a reduced pace. We continue to provide classroom instruction via ZOOM meetings and it is working out very well.  Students are provided with all of the information they need and staying safe at the same time. Students are allowed to start the training without having a CDL permit. On the road training will have to wait until a CDL permit is obtained. 

We are also providing driver training, but again, at a reduced pace with social spacing.  As mentioned in previous posts, the infracture we have put together at Interstate/Hudson Truck Driving Schools provides access to safe training but utilizing our high tech simulators and our indoor backing range. 

We also have access to CDL road tests through our Wisconsin based school, Hudson Truck Driving School.
